The controlling Artificial Intelligence on board the Auriga military research ship, Father controlled all automated systems on board the ship. After aliens infested the Auriga, the auton Call overrode Father's command and took control of all door lock mechanisms, clearing a way to the Betty, a smuggling ship, and then later crashed the Auriga.
