RSWS: The UA 571-C is a remote perimeter defense weapon in use by the USCM and the US Army. It consists mainly of a tripod stand, battery pack, breech and barrel assembly, sensor array, and 500-round ammo drum. The RSWS has 360-degree fire action, and mounts a pulse-action machine gun with a cyclic rate of 1100 rpm. The RWSW sensor array is mounted above the barrel, covering a 60-degree cone in front of the weapon. The sensing suite consists of an infrared detector, lidar, light optics, and an ultrasonic motion tracker. If set to "auto-remote", the RSWS system will scan all targets, then classify them using an Identification Friend Foe (IFF) transponder, and take appropriate action. Other variations on the UA 571 Remote Sentry Weapons System include the -D variant, with a 20mW HF laser, and the -F variant, with a 40mm automatic grenade launcher.

The RSWS was used by the Marines on LV426 to keep the aliens at bay.
